Privacy Policy

Recce ("the app") is developed by Atropical AS ("Atropical", "we", "us"), Stenbråtveien 75B, 1283 Oslo, Norway, org. no. 926 176 390 MVA. This policy explains what data Recce collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding it.

Information we collect

• Location data. Recce uses your device's GPS to show your position, plan routes, and provide turn-by-turn navigation. Location is processed on your device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
• Map and route data requests. To display maps and routing data, the app downloads map tiles and surface data from our content delivery network. These requests may include standard technical information (such as IP address, device type, and app version) that is logged temporarily by our infrastructure provider for security and reliability purposes.
• Crash and diagnostic reports. If the app crashes or encounters an error, we may collect a crash report to help us fix the issue. This report does not include your name or location history.
• No account required. Recce does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or payment information through the app itself.

How we use information

Location and map data are used solely to provide the app's core functionality: navigation and route scouting. Technical request logs are used only to operate, secure, and improve our map-tile infrastructure, and are retained no longer than necessary for those purposes.

Third-party services

Map tiles and surface data are served from Cloudflare infrastructure. Cloudflare may process standard request metadata (such as IP address) as our infrastructure provider, under its own privacy policy. Recce does not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share location or usage data with third parties except as described above (infrastructure providers necessary to operate the app) or where required by law.

Data retention

Because Recce does not create accounts or store rides on our servers, there is no personal profile for us to retain. Infrastructure request logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operational purposes, then deleted.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights under GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to or restrict our processing of it. Since Recce does not collect account-linked personal data, most requests will relate to infrastructure logs — contact us and we will assist.

Children's privacy

Recce is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
